Our Rotary Teams
We are structured into five teams as follows:
Social Team
This team is responsible for developing the programme for the year, and the organisation of all our meetings and social activities including: all the events at Forest Hills Hotel; golf, cricket, bowls and games events; the speakers; train excursion, etc. The current Team Leaders are Brian Henshaw and Frank Ball.
Fund Raising Team
The Fundraising team is responsible for arranging the fundraising events and activities like Cheshire Motor Show and Father Christmas Float. The team manages our hot dog and burger stall which raises a lot of money for charity, at our own events like Festival in the Park and at events run by other organisations such as the Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks and school Summer Fayres. Colin Abbot and Ian Lewis are the current Team Leaders.
Youth, Community and International Team
This team acts directly to support our local community In the Festival in the Park we provide a showcase for local charity and voluntary organisations to publicise their work, recruit new members and fundraise. We run the Youth Speaks public speaking competition for young people in our Rotary District (NW England). The team's other main function is making charitable donations to local, national and international charities. For example, we donate to local schools to fund Life Education and to support other school projects and we sponsor Helsby High School to take part in Youth Speaks. The team is also responsible for liaison with our twin club in the Czech Republic, Rotary in Hradec Kralove. Allen Wales and Barry Linaker are the current Team Leaders, with Malcolm Davies leading on International and on Czech liaison.
